This vehicle had only a minor rear bumper cover repair needed from this accident. Only after the bumper cover was removed did we find the prior repair problem. If we were to say nothing and just put it back how we found it, who would we be helping? certainly not you our customer.

This vehicle represents what we see on a daily basis comming into our shop. You never really know what you might find when looking at the exterior only. This is just another reason to take the vehicle apart prior to the insurance company looking and negotiating the claim no matter how small the accident may seem.
This is the rear body panel on the left side where it attaches to the frame rail.
Here's the right side body panel at the rear rail, it looks a bit better that the other side but... look further...
This is the repair that was done by the prior repair shop. I wonder if they were paid to fix it or not? If you count the shims (1/8in each) you can tell it was in by 3/8in.
This side was not quite as bad.. only 1/4in out of spec. (unibody vehicle factory specifications are normally 3mm or about 1/8in)

So.. Why end up a little bit short, If you pay your insurance premium the same way they just drop you.
