Your insurance company will try to "sell" you on using their shops. They will talk about "guarantees", time savings and "no hassles".
The truth is, insurance contracted shops cut deals with insurers to get on their preferred lists. These deals include kickbacks, cheap parts (non-OEM) & materials, and disregard for industry 'standards'.... that all cumulate into poor or unsafe repairs. |

| Use these tips to protect your investment, your family and yourself: |

- Use only a bodyshop that is not affiliated with the insurers program
- Insist that the bodyshop use pre-loss parts - have them put it in writing
- Choose a bodyshop that will handle your claim with the insurer
- Insist on a frame inspection printout before and after repairs
- Insist on a wheel alignment printout before and after alignment
- Verify that the shop will adhere to and follows all manufacturer's recommendations and standards for all procedures, safety systems and parts
- Insist on getting a copy of the initial bodyshop estimate and their final bill.
- Ask that they go through the final bill with you
- You have the right to pre-loss condition repairs
- You have the right to use the shop of your choice
