Things I Found Interesting This Week

Every week I read blogs and news reports from everywhere on the web. Here are just a few of my favorite findings.

Not only is it fascinating watching these vehicles sustain hits but if you slow it down you actually see the secondary damage and how the forces transfer through the entire vehicle from different angles. You can look up what the government says about crash ratings for vehicles you own or are interested in and stay up to date on that. If you’re looking for a new car it’s a great way to see what the safety ratings really are and you’ll be surprised by which are not rated very safe.

This organization is run by the United States Government and its purpose is to ensure the crashworthiness of models that are built by manufacturers. Each model that is built by a manufacturer has to go through a set of stringent tests from different angles and at different speeds. These include rollover tests to verify that the occupants will sustain a certain level of force and not be killed.

Electric Cars Pass a Milestone

Electric cars are making strides in America. Tesla’s posting a profit and designing a network of supercharging stations across America to support their Teslas. The electric market is making inroads little by little. It’ll be many many years before it becomes mainstream for three main reasons; cost, distance and resale value. The American Public has not bought into the electric car as a primary vehicle for the most part but a lot of families have them as a second or a third vehicle. It’s just a fun thing to watch. There’s a hundred thousand electric cars now sold in America. Who would have thought?

Aston Reveals Speedster Concept

This is a fascinating concept car that Aston Martin has put out. The Roadster started in the 30’s and became a type of a hotrod in the 50’s as returning GI’s from WWII were taking the 30’s convertibles and tricking them out.

Aston Martin has made an incredibly cool, off the charts designed Roadster. I love roadsters and Leif’s Garage is designing a custom Ford Fiesta Roadster to debut in 2015.

How Are We Doing?

Claims Advocacy

Large insurance corporations have all the power. As consumers, we can’t stop the insurance abuses without bringing our voices together, and using the power of the media, government and the courts to stop it
